Claude Monet
: Impression, Sunrise.
This painting of Claude Monet gave to a critic made indignant in 1874 the idea to forge the term
" impressionism " by which he wanted to indicate his contempt for the painting of Monet and his friends Pissarro, Renoir, Degas and Sisley.
Work constituted a revolution against the traditional painting of workshop official. It is in outside that the impressionists will seek the light and the color. Monet for its part will travel all his life. Born in Paris it passes its childhood in Le Havre where his/her parents hold a small trade, it painted there Impression, Raising Sun and the edges of sea in company of Boudin and Jongkind.
Monet likes the atmospheric effects and the light who dissolves the forms. For this reason its style remained so modern.
