Ernie Barnes (1938-2009). American genius of the bodies moving completely ignored in Europe !

Ernest Ernie Eugene Barnes, Junior is a painter Afro-American known in the USA for his dynamic and specific representation of the movement. He was also professional football player, author and actor of series TV and films.
Barnes is a innovating artist because its works represent a daring change compared to the standards established at its time. The artist shows new and original images of ghettos and urban centres. Barnes shows that an individual can be well balanced and to have a mentality and a positive attitude without worrying too much about the colour of his skin or his social position.
The work of Barnes was described in the USA by a sitcom: “ Good Times ” in the years 1975. This series shows a gifted artist who lives in the ghetto, sharing his bed with his young brother and who produces the most astonishing works of art ever seen in Chicago.
A black artist who fights in the search of his identification. It is about the voice of Barnes coming from the ghetto which shows the beauty of dust and the pride of poverty.
Works of Barnes show the Afro-Americans how use the rhythm and the music to solve the physical tensions. But the true question has to you it why there physical or psychic tensions? In the USA criticisms point out that the work of Barnes incarnates the kind of the “ black romanticism,” what, according to Nathalie Hopkinson of Washington Post, is the visual equivalent of the “Chitlin' circuit. ”. The “Chitlin circuit” is the collective name which is given to the places which are places of appointment in all the areas Eastern, southernmost and higher of the East of the United States and which was rather sure so that musicians and actors Afro-Americans can occur during the hard period of the racial segregation. (Of the 19th century until the Sixties). Today this term applies to the places of appointment where the singers contemporary Afro-Americans of Rap and Hip hop or other occur.
Ernie Barnes uses hot colours and oval faces in installations expressionists. The close eye or almost closed is practically a registered trademark of Barnes. This one explained it while saying: “ We do not see ourselves, we are plug with the humanity of each one. ” Our eyelids are like the lamp-shade of the lamps. As its characters always have the lengthened members some critical spoke about post-mannerism in reference to the mannerism which succeeded the rebirth whose characters had the members very lengthened as at Bronzino, Correge or the Parmesan for example. But this mannerism there was variegated much less and did not express the movement at all. The characters of Barnes move in all the directions because they are free. They do not have any more chains. And they are happy to be free and able to move by their own will. And that Europe does not want to see it because it is Europe which posed the chains of their ancestors to grow rich by selling them like slaves. Moreover a career as that of Barnes is still impossible today in Europe where one puts a presenter of black TV news to you to give oneself clear conscience. Which disappears with the first rehandling. Imagine a black professional footballer in Europe to finish its career and to become artist, play in films, series TV. It is impossible, the old continent remained deeply racist. You have several talents in Europe only if you are white. And even if you are too chechmate of skin that cannot be not allowed.
The European elite is white and it does not divide anything, except misery and slavery.
Another influence that Barnes evokes about which one does not speak is that of the caricature and the cartoon. It is seen well that its childhood was also nourished cartoons and comics.
Born In North Carolina in the suburbs from the town of Hayti, Ernie Barnes had a made father of forwarding for a company of tobacco and a supervising mother of the school personnel of household.
Very early it is interested in works of Toulouse-Lautrec, Delacroix, Rubens, and Michelangelo.
A professor of masonry, Tommy Tucker, also weightlifting coach and former athlete is intrigued by the book of drawing of Ernie Barnes which represents bodies moving or full effort. He proposes to him to involve it.
During its last year with the college of Hillside, Ernie Barnes becomes American captain of the football team and champion of the state of weightlifting.
Barnes receives a diploma of the college of Hillside and 26 offers of sporting purses.
Because of the segregation, it enters to the black university of North Carolina. (Today central university of North Carolina).
He plays all positions with American football and is selected in the team of his conference. (Area East). Barnes in December 1959 is selected with the 10th turn by the world champion of American football Baltimore Colts. At the origin with the 8th turn it had been chosen by the Red Skins of Washington, but those give up the selection by discovering that it is black. As soon as he sees a professional football game Barnes stretches a painting and makes a table.
After Baltimore Barnes with the Titans of New York because this team signs has the first option on any player released in the league.
Then Barnes accepts an offer of Al Davis, trainer with the chargers of Los Angeles.
Barnes becomes friendly with Jack Kemp, a narrow and durable friendship.
During the seasons with the chargers, Barnes was director of the programme of reclassification of released on word of the authority of the youth of California.
He also worked as writer for the voice, a local newspaper of San Diego, writing a weekly article which was called: “ a question of the sports. ”
Barnes also illustrated several articles for the magazine of San Diego during the seasons 1962 and 1963.
Then Barnes is recruited by Denver Broncos. Barnes is called: “ Grand Rembrandt ” by his team-members of Denver. Indeed Barnes and Rembrandt were born the same day.
Indicator whom it often draws on the bench during the idle periods, his trainer asks him to draw the forms that take the unfavourable attacks and defenses and the defense reactions to the movements of its team.
More the share of these notes were then transformed into paintings by Barnes.
In 1965, after its second season with Broncos, Barnes signs with Saskatchewan Roughriders in Canada. During the last quarters of the season it breaks the right foot. Its career of professional footballer is finished.
But it still will work for the football league American. The owner of the Jets of New York, Sony Werblin declares to him: “ You have more value for this country as an artist than as a football player ”. And the league places him in front of its paintings beside the matches.
Dice its first exposure in 1966 the artist is acclaimed and all the paintings are sold.
